I will unlock your child's true potential!
Throughout each session, I pay close attention to your child's successes and their deficits. Due to the one on one setting, I am able to begin working on fixing your child's deficit. This close attention to detail and focused work allows me to help your child unlock their true potential, while mastering critical components of reading that they previously struggled with.
Miss Jaymie has made such a huge difference in my family. My daughter was really struggling in Kindergarten and her teacher suggested we have her tested for Dyslexia. She was too young to diagnose but the markers were certainly there. Her struggles didn’t improve so I tried many avenues to help her; private school, special reading classes, after hours teachers to tutor her, computer programs, the works. Nothing helped her. Toward the end of 1st grade a friend referred Miss Jaymie and in our introductory phone conversation, I felt like she understood my daughter better than anyone else ever had. And they still hadn’t even met yet.
My daughter is now going into 4th grade and making astounding progress. Miss Jaymie is teaching her to rewire her thinking and she’s better able to not only read, but understand more of what happens in the classroom and really learn at grade level.
Jaymie is also tutoring my second grader. She doesn’t share the same struggle with Dyslexia so Jaymie uses completely different tools and strategy with her. Her reading level improved at such a rate that she leveled-up in classroom reading groups at a much faster rate than most of her classmates.
Both of my girls look forward to working with Miss Jaymie because they feel so accomplished with their work and because she makes learning so enjoyable. I can’t thank Jaymie enough for the confidence and achievements my girls are experiencing because of her work.

My Education
I graduated Summa Cum Laude from ASU West in 2005 with a bachelor's degree in education. I also received the highest honors of Summa Cum Laude when I graduated with my advanced master's degree in education with a main focus on curriculum and instruction and a specialization on early childhood education. I am also a reading specialist for grades Prek-12th grade and certified with the state of Arizona. In addition to my education, I also currently hold a valid level one fingerprint clearance card.
Getting To Know Me
I grew up in Litchfield Park, Arizona and I am lucky enough to still reside there. I previously taught kindergarten and second grade in the Pendergast District. Throughout my tutoring experience, I have taught: struggling students, dyslexic students, gifted students, and students with ADHD, Autism and OCD. During my off time I enjoy participating in hot yoga, reformer pilates, tennis, indoor cycling, reading, swimming, running, playing brain games, and spending time with my friends and family.

I am fortunate to be a part of the adjunct faculty at Grand Canyon University, where I teach classes focused on systematic reading, methods and strategies of teaching English Language Arts, and interventions for students with dyslexia and other learning disabilities. Additionally, I am the associate director for a developmentally delayed adult group home.
As a tutor I enjoy the one on one setting with your child, as it allows me to delve into your child's abilities and their true potential. I have been tutoring for 10 years and currently serve students in grades pre-k through eleventh grade. I am certified to teach SEI and ESL and I have been trained in Jennifer Ashlock, Houghton Mifflin, Harcourt, multi-sensory grammar, thinking maps, phonics, and received extensive training for 2nd grade common core math. I also have substantial experience and success with teaching the Susan Barton Reading and Spelling System. Click here for more info on Susan Barton: http://bartonreading.com/
